Connecting systems by conveying information in the simplest possible way

Techniques & Tools

What makes Open Mapping Software special? How do we complete data integration projects faster, cheaper, and with better quality than other integration companies?

The answer lies in the powerful model-based mapping techniques and tools which we use. These tools and techniques have been refined and proven in complex integration projects, in healthcare and in other sectors including finance, utilities, and manufacturing.

Model-Based Mapping

By mapping diverse data sources onto a common logical model of information, you can understand data relationships simply and lay the foundations for cost-effective data integration.

Mapping-Driven Data Transformation

Using mappings of several data structures onto a common logical model, you can auto-generate transforms between the data structures, with big benefits in cost and reliability.

Data Quality Toolset

To assess and tackle data quality problems, you need to inspect and compare data across different data sources, and run bulk data tests such as approximate matching and de-duplication. Tools for these demanding tasks typically have a very high price-tag. However, based on our open source mapping and transformation tools, we offer powerful tools for data comparison and matching, for affordable annual licence costs.

Mapping and Transformation Tools

These techniques are supported by a powerful open-source Eclipse-based toolset, with comprehensive support for editing, validating and testing mappings; for simplifying HL7 messages; and for generating, running and testing the transformations. The toolset has extensive on-line help, and can be downloaded from this site.

HL7 Message Simplification

We define simplified forms of HL7 V3 and CDA messages, which can be reliably transformed to the full standard messages. Interfacing to the simplified messages is a simple task, and is the pain-free way to achieve HL7 conformance.
